whyplanesfly.com is run by Reciptix LLP, a limited liability partnership registered in the United Kingdom, which is the data controller for the personal data described here.
The site has no accounts, forms or comments, and shows no ads. Everything it learns about your visit comes from the three Google services below.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which parts of the page people read. It stores two cookies in your browser, _ga and one starting with _ga_, and sends Google:
- the pages you view, how far you scroll, and the links you follow out of the site;
- how you arrived, such as from a search engine or another site;
- your browser, device type, screen size and language;
- your approximate location, worked out from your IP address. Google Analytics does not log or store the address itself.
Google Signals and Google’s advertising features are switched off. Google Analytics deletes this event-level data after two months; only aggregate statistics are kept longer. We rely on our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is read, and you can object at any time by turning analytics off.
Turning analytics off
The setting applies to this browser only. Google also offers a browser add-on that turns Google Analytics off on every site.
Fonts and hosting
The fonts are served by Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google’s servers to download them. Like any server, they see your IP address and browser details. No cookies are involved.
The site is hosted on Firebase Hosting, also run by Google, which receives the same details when it delivers the page and may log them to keep the service secure and running.
Where the data goes
Google may process this data in the United States. Google LLC is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and its UK extension, which cover these transfers.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to delete it, or object to its use. We never learn your name or contact details, so we can usually only find analytics data you can point us to, such as the value of your _ga cookie. Write to legal@reciptix.com. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office, or to the data protection authority where you live.
